I'm sick of chairs [Sep. 8th, 2006|02:48 am]
10:00am - 2:00pm

Sit in uncomfortable chairs at school and listen to people lecture all morning.

3:00pm - 12:00am

Sit in an uncomfortable chair for work training and listen to someone lecture all day.

12:00am - 3:00am

Sit in an uncomfortable desk chair at home and work on homework all night.

This is my weekday schedule for three more weeks, and it's fucking killing me. I feel like I have the back pains of an 80-year-old. I'm really looking forward to this work training ending. We literally sit in one spot and listen to someone lecture for 8 of the 9 hours we're there. By the end of the night I feel like lighting the instructor on fire.

I'd rather be exhausted from hard manual labor than from extreme lethargy anyday. Inactivity makes you feel like shit.

I had a job interview today with a health insurance company located in my area and they hired me on the spot. I'll be working in their customer service department dealing strictly with senior citizens. I can't think of anything easier than getting paid to talk to old people over the phone all day. ;)

What does a Scanner see? Clearly or darkly? [Jul. 26th, 2006|10:41 pm]
[Current Mood |weirdweird]

So myself and a friend drove out to Buffalo last night to catch the film adaption of Philip K. Dick's book "A Scanner Darkly" on 2C-C.

The movie was intense even on something as mellow as 2C-C, let me tell you. I almost ran out of the theatre during the opening scene where Freck is trying to rid himself and his dog from an infestation of imagined insects. The animation was outstanding and the paranoia-driven dialogue was enough to make you laugh and insane at the same time. It got pretty crazy towards the end when the plot takes on a more serious tone, particularly Arctor's last meeting with the LE Psychiatrists, Arctor's "What does a scanner see?" speech, and then his last conversation with Hank, and it was all I could do to stop myself from freaking the fuck out. The movie takes a very personal approach towards drug use and it will most definitely get into your head if you let it.

If you have a chance to see this movie, do it on a Psychedelic.
